Colors of the Southwest

Kathy Brandenberger-O'Rourke was born in Columbus, Ohio, but has lived in Texas most of her life. She earned her B.A.and graduate studies at the University of North Texas. She has exhibited in numerous shows and has received several awards for her work. She has taught art for over 29 years and currently lives and works in San Antonio, Texas. The body of work is divided into three distinct media; watercolors, oil painting and linoleum prints. The work reflects the influence of the environment; travels, interests, collections and love of Mexican design amd color. "I am fond of dropping the unexpected into my work. I want viewers to look around and find something that peaks their interest." Although there is a similarity in subject matter, primarily the landscape, each medium is approached with a different outlookand different result.
